Kawana Golf Information

Kawana, a part of Ito city in Shizuokka prefecture, is located 100 km away from Tokyo. Limited express train “Odoriko-go” takes you to Ito station for 1 hour 45 minutes from Tokyo station. Trains run along the sea coast, and the scenery from the windows is excellent. We recommend to escape from busy Tokyo and enjoy golf at Kawana Golf Club against blue Pacific ocean, Mt.Fuji, Izu-Oshima and Hatushima Islands, much cooler temperatures by wind from sea compared to Tokyo cosmopolitan area. The city and Izu peninsula are filled with many hotels, traditional Japanese inn, hot springs, fresh seafood, tourist attraction spots and more.

Kawana Golf Club, Fuji Course opened in 1936 was designed by C.H. Alison, and is ranking among top 100 course in the World, LPGA event, Fuji Sankei Ladies Classic is held in April. Since it is on the mountainous topography flanked to the ocean, the big difference of elevation will deprive your energy in the second half. Starting hole, 415-yard par 4 are so impressive in terms of elevation change. Picking up signature holes, 7th hole , 393 yard, par 4. players need a precise tee shot between narrow tree lines, for second shot undulating fairway and four bunkers surrounded a small green shall be avoided. 15th. hole, 480 yard, par 5, being laid out along the ocean side on your left side, players need to concentrate on your tee shot to avoid the water hazard in your sight.

Another course, Oshima Course opened in 1928 was designed by Japanese architect Otani Mitsuaki. Both Kawana golf courses are available to play for hotel guests only.
