Chiba Isumi Golf Club

Chiba Isumi Golf Club is located in a gentle hilly area of Boso Peninsula, and 27 holes are beautifully laid out on a site of 150 square meters in total area. At the time of opening in 1979, it started with only 18 holes in the east course and the south course. The west course opened in 1989, and it became 27 holes. The average length of the par-4 holes is 400 yards. It is slightly longer but the width of the fairways also wide as 40 m and there are few blind holes. So it is possible to play in a relaxed way.The course concept is “How straight and far you can strike off.” , and it pursues the origin of golf.

The east course starts with a slow downhill par-4 hole, and followed by a variety of tough holes. The impressive holes are the 5th hole (par-5), the 8th hole (par-4) and 9th hole (par-5). It is important that how to get through these courses  to get a good score.

The south course has many ups and downs. The 1st hole is a long par-5 with 575 yards. The 7th hole(par-3) has a very wide valley which is 90 yards width, so you must predict the winds to get par.

The west course is well expressed the concept by two designers Kokichi Yasuda and Shiro Kawamura. Each hole is flat and vast, and bunkers and hazards are cleverly arranged. The strategy will be changed that which tee box you start, so you should choose it according your skills. The 6th hole is beautiful with colored leaves, and you can feel the changes of the four seasons. This course won the 1st prize in the maintenance section of  “National Best Course Readers Ranking 2014” of the golf magazine.

You can enjoy golfing every time, as the course are always kept in the best condition. There is a driving range which has 21 boxes  and each one has 220 yards. As the service of staffs and caddies is very high, this club is garnering immense praises from players.
