Excellent Golf Club, Ise Ootori Course

Excellent Golf Club Ise Ootori Course is located in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, 6 km from Ise Expressway Hisai IC. It takes 25 minutes by car from Tsu Station of the Meitetsu Nagoya Line. The course opened in 1998, and it is very strategic course designed by Mitsuaki Kobayashi. It is placed on the spacious hilly area with a total length of 7100 yards. In front of the clubhouse, There is a vast pond which is 87,000 square meters in front of the clubhouse, and two other ponds are adjacent to 5 holes. These are making the course quite difficult. It is known as the Course that Tiger Woods and Hideki Maruyama played a match.

The 1st hole is a par-4 uphill from the teeing ground to the green. From the second shot, it is better to select a club to be able to shot farther about 10 yards than usual considering the uphill. The 6th hole is par-4 dogleg to the left. It is able to shortcut if you are a long hitter, but be careful not to fly too far to the right. The 9th hole is a par-4 hole with a large pond, and it is a difficult layout with a long distance and the green which is on the floating island. At the teeing shot, it is the best to aim the left side of the fairway to avoid the cross bunker. The 11th hole is an S-shaped par-4  hole. It is better to aim the left side of the fairway at the teeing shot. At the second shot, it is safe to launch about 15 yards and attack from the right front to avoid the bunker on the left side of the green. It must be careful because over the green is immediately out of bounds. The 14th hole is a par-3 hole with the pond. From the second shot, it should be careful the distance and the direction because the green is 2-tiered and the bunker in front of the green is quite deep. The 18th hole is not only beautiful peninsular course but also a strategic high level course that it has a large bunker and a undulating green.

In February 2019, the latest GPS cart navigation system was introduced to the cart. The clubhouse is a Japanese style building  and it is quite cozy.
